About Tim
Tim is a practicum counsellor with previous experience as a Registered Counselling Psychologist in Hong Kong. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to support children with developmental needs, as well as individuals across different stages of life who have experienced emotional distress, trauma, and significant life changes.
Tim welcomes children, adolescents, adults, and older adults who may be navigating a difficult season of life or seeking a deeper understanding of themselves. Whether clients are adjusting to a major life transition, coping with anxiety or stress, working through difficult experiences, or simply looking for greater clarity and self-understanding, Tim strives to create a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where everyone can feel heard and supported.
His counselling approach is integrative and tailored to each person's unique needs and circumstances. His training includes Client-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness-based techniques, and Play Therapy for children. Tim believes that counselling is most meaningful when it is collaborative, and he works alongside clients to understand their experiences, explore patterns that may be affecting their lives, and discover approaches that support meaningful change.
Tim is particularly interested in helping clients develop a greater understanding of how past experiences can influence their present emotions, relationships, and behaviours. Through increased self-awareness and practical coping strategies, clients can strengthen emotional resilience, regain a sense of control, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
At the heart of Tim's work is the belief that everyone deserves to be heard, understood, and respected. Whether working with a child learning to express difficult emotions or an adult navigating a significant life transition, he aims to meet each client with empathy, curiosity, and acceptance. His role is not to tell clients who they should be, but to walk alongside them as they explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, and move toward the life they want to build.
Outside of counselling, Tim enjoys staying active through sports and spending time reading. These activities help him stay grounded and present, while his commitment to lifelong learning continues to shape both his personal growth and his work as a counsellor.
