About May

May is a registered clinical counsellor under BCACC. She provides individual, couples, and family counselling. She is a child, youth, and family counsellor.

May is dedicated to helping parents find ways to navigate the challenges of raising their children. She has a skill for observing family dynamics which can help to strengthen the relationships children, teenagers, and young adults have with their parents as well as help them to release their stress and overcome the challenges they are struggling with.

Her approaches are integrated and are based on Person-centred Theory, Attachment Theory, and Family Systemic Theory, and are merged with Emotion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Play Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

May can speak fluent Cantonese and Mandarin. It is hoped that language is not a barrier in therapy for Chinese-speaking clients and that they can communicate freely and feel more connected with the therapist.
