Patricia Benton
Student Therapist - Master Level Practicum Student
Patricia is a mom of two and a graduate-level student at Yorkville University in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program. She holds a BA in Communications, is trained as a Forest Therapy Guide, and has 20 years of corporate experience as a senior communications professional.

Patricia has a warm, empathetic, approachable, and resourceful nature. She works to create therapeutic relationships built on respect, non-judgement, and collaboration. With an open heart and mind, Patricia listens to her clients, helping them build the resilience and skills they need to thrive.

Patricia works from a holistic, person-centred perspective, integrating compassion, solutions-focused, nature-based and CBT techniques into her trauma-informed approach.

Stress management, burnout, climate anxiety, and vicarious trauma are areas of interest and experience, in addition to working with women and caregivers, especially during transitional phases of life. She is committed to creating inclusive, accepting, and safe spaces for all and is always open to growing and learning with her clients.

In Patricia’s life, family, social justice, mindfulness, and nature-based self-care play an important role in her well-being. She is a first-generation Canadian settler who loves her Polish grandmother, positive psychology, the environment, and cheese. She speaks fluent English.
